Lutcher Bulldogs (Lutcher, LA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Assumption Mustangs (Napoleonville, LA), 5-4 in a non-league challenge.

The Bulldogs now own a 8-4 record. They take the field next when they host St. Mary's Dominican for a non-league challenge on Thursday, March 30. Lutcher will face a squad coming off a 2-1 league win over Mt. Carmel (New Orleans, LA). The record now stands at 16-9.

With the loss, Assumption falls to 8-6 on the campaign. The Mustangs host A.J. Ellender (Houma, LA) to face the Patriots in a 4A District 7 challenge on Thursday, March 30. The Patriots enter the challenge with a record of 1-9.
