Bend Lava Bears (Bend, OR) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Barlow Bruins (Gresham, OR), 2-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Lava Bears now own a 5-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to McMinnville for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, April 4.

With the loss, Barlow falls to 2-2 on the campaign. The Bruins travel to Crater (Central Point, OR) to battle the Comets in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, March 28. The Comets enter the challenge with a record of 1-1. Crater lost 6-5 in their recent non-league challenge against Oregon City (Oregon City, OR)
