The Benton Rangers softball team scored 10 runs and limited the visiting Pope County Pirates to 0 in the Rangers non-league triumph on Tuesday.

With the triumph, Benton moves its record to 5-2 on the year. The Rangers travel to Vienna (Vienna, IL) to clash with the Eagles in a non-league game on Wednesday, March 29. The Eagles come into the game with a record of 4-1. Vienna won 2-1 in their recent non-league test against Massac County (Metropolis, IL)

The Pirates (2-4) will now prepare for their test against Crab Orchard (Marion, IL). The Trojans come into the Greater Egyptian test with a 3-2 record. In their last test, Crab Orchard overcame Galatia/Thompsonville (Galatia, IL), 11-3, in a league test.
