The Fort Payne Wildcats baseball team scored 13 runs and limited the host Mortimer Jordan Blue Devils to 2 in the Wildcats non-league victory on Thursday.
The Wildcats (16-6) will now prepare for their match against Oxford (Oxford, AL). The Yellow Jackets go into the 6A Area 13 match with a 16-8 record. In their last match, Oxford gained a win over Chilton County (Clanton, AL), 7-4, in a non-league match.
The Blue Devils (11-14) will now prepare for their match against Clay-Chalkville (Pinson, AL). The Cougars go into the 6A Area 12 match with a 9-7 record. In their last match, Clay-Chalkville gained a win over Pinson Valley (Pinson, AL), 11-4, in a league challenge.
