Virginia High School Soccer - Watauga knocks off Abingdon

Watauga Pioneers (Boone, NC) fans were thrilled Thursday as they observed their soccer team knock off the host Abingdon Falcons (Abingdon, VA), 4-1 in a non-league challenge.
Next, the Pioneers confront the South Caldwell Spartans (Hudson, NC) in a Northwestern 3A/4A challenge, on Tuesday, April 9. Watauga will attempt to better on its 7-1 season record. The Spartans enter the challenge with a 4-4 record after their 2-1 non-league loss to McDowell (Marion, NC).
The Falcons now have a 4-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Union for a Mountain 7 challenge on Friday, March 29. Abingdon will confront a Bears team coming off a 6-0 league loss to John Battle (Bristol, VA). The Bears record now stands at 0-2.
