In Thursday's non-league battle, the host Vail Mountain Gore Rangers soccer squad scored a close 2-1 triumph over the Salida Spartans.
The Gore Rangers (3-1) will now prepare for their battle against Rifle (Rifle, CO). The Bears come into the 3A Western Slope battle with a 2-2 record.
The Spartans (2-2) will now prepare for their battle against Delta (Delta, CO). The Panthers come into the non-league battle with a 3-1 record. In their last battle, Delta nudged Montezuma-Cortez (Cortez, CO), 4-0, in a non-league battle.
