Altamont Indians (Altamont, IL) fans exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Richland County Tigers (Olney, IL), 5-3 in a non-league challenge.

The Indians now sport a 3-2 record. They take the field next when they host Flora for a non-league challenge on Friday, March 29. Altamont will face a Wolves squad coming off a 12-0 non-league win over Oblong (Oblong, IL). The Wolves record now stands at 4-1.

With the loss, Richland County falls to 4-3 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to Mater Dei (Breese, IL) to face the Knights in a non-league challenge on Saturday, March 30. The Knights enter the challenge with a record of 8-3. Mater Dei won 11-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Greenville (Greenville, IL)
