Bourgeois Braves (Gray, LA) fans exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Covenant Christian Academy Lions (Houma, LA), 12-6 in a non-league challenge.

The Braves now sport a 12-12 record. They take the field next when they host Terrebonne for a 5A District 7 challenge on Wednesday, April 3. Bourgeois will face a Tigers squad coming off a 14-4 non-league loss to Morgan City (Morgan City, LA). The Tigers record now stands at 4-13.

With the loss, Covenant Christian Academy falls to 10-8 on the campaign. The Lions travel to Highland Baptist Christian (New Iberia, LA) to face the Bears in a 1A District 7 challenge on Monday, April 1. The Bears enter the challenge with a record of 12-10.
