The Carterville Lions softball team scored 10 runs and limited the visiting Vienna Eagles to 0 in the Lions non-league triumph on Thursday.

With the triumph, Carterville moves its record to 9-1 on the year. The Lions travel to Belleville East (Belleville, IL) to play the Lancers in a non-league game on Friday, March 29. The Lancers come into the game with a record of 6-2. Belleville East won 10-0 in their recent league game against Alton (Alton, IL)

In their next game, the Eagles play the Goreville Blackcats (Goreville, IL) in a Black Diamond West game, on Tuesday, April 2. Vienna will attempt to move on its 6-5 season record.
