Churubusco Eagles (Churubusco, IN) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Whitko Wildcats (South Whitley, IN), 6-5 in a non-league challenge.

The Eagles now own a 2-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Fairfield for a Northeast Corner challenge on Tuesday, April 9.

With the loss, Whitko falls to 0-4 on the campaign. The Wildcats host West Noble (Ligonier, IN) to battle the Chargers in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, April 10. The Chargers enter the challenge with a record of 1-2.
