Crestview Knights (Convoy, OH) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Van Wert Cougars (Van Wert, OH), 8-5 in a non-league challenge.

The Knights now own a 1-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Minster for a non-league challenge on Saturday, March 30. Crestview will face a Wildcats squad coming off a 8-6 non-league loss to Lincolnview (Van Wert, OH). The Wildcats record now stands at 3-1.

With the loss, Van Wert falls to 0-2 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to Kenton (Kenton, OH) to face the Wildcats in a Western Buckeye challenge on Tuesday, April 2. The Wildcats enter the challenge with a record of 1-2. Kenton lost 6-4 in their recent non-league challenge against Marion Harding (Marion, OH)
