Yreka Miners (Yreka, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Etna Lions (Etna, CA), 7-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Miners now own a 8-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to West Valley for a Northern challenge on Tuesday, April 9. Yreka will face a Eagles squad coming off a 9-3 non-league win over Orland (Orland, CA). The Eagles record now stands at 6-2.

With the loss, Etna falls to 3-4 on the campaign. The Lions travel to Trinity (Weaverville, CA) to face the Wolves in a Shasta Cascade challenge on Friday, March 29. The Wolves enter the challenge with a record of 1-12. Trinity lost 22-8 in their recent non-league challenge against Enterprise (Redding, CA)
