Germantown Mavericks (Madison, MS) fans exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Kosciusko Whippets (Kosciusko, MS), 2-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Mavericks now sport a 11-5 record. They take the field next when they host Starkville for a 7A Region 2 challenge on Saturday, March 30. Germantown will face a Yellowjackets squad coming off a 20-3 league loss to Clinton (Clinton, MS). The Yellowjackets record now stands at 4-13.

With the loss, Kosciusko falls to 13-6 on the campaign. The Whippets host Ethel (Ethel, MS) to face the Tigers in a non-league challenge on Thursday, April 4. The Tigers enter the challenge with a record of 6-8.
