Spectators at Thursday's non-league match between the Landrum Cardinals (Landrum, SC) and the host Polk County Wolverines (Columbus, NC), witnessed Landrum's softball squad tip Polk County by a count of 8-1.

The Cardinals now sport a 2-1 record. They play next when they travel to Travelers Rest for a non-league match on Monday, April 8.

With the loss, Polk County moves to 5-5 on the season. The Wolverines host R-S Central (Rutherfordton, NC) to meet the Hilltoppers in a Mountain Foothills Seven 1A/2A match on Tuesday, April 9. The Hilltoppers go into the match with a record of 5-4.
