Sacred Heart-Griffin Cyclones (Springfield, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host North Mac Panthers (Virden, IL), 5-3 in a non-league challenge.

The Cyclones now own a 4-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Glenwood for a Central State Eight challenge on Tuesday, April 2. Sacred Heart-Griffin will battle a Titans squad coming off a 4-0 league win over Springfield (Springfield, IL). The Titans record now stands at 5-0.

With the loss, North Mac falls to 5-3 on the campaign. The Panthers host Carrollton (Carrollton, IL) to battle the Hawks in a non-league challenge on Friday, March 29. The Hawks enter the challenge with a record of 7-0. Carrollton won 5-0 in their recent league challenge against Triopia/Meredosia-Chambersburg/Virginia (Concord, IL)
