Illinois High School Baseball - Newton holds off Charleston

March 28, 2025: Charleston, IL 61920

The crowd at Friday's non-league battle between the Newton Eagles (Newton, IL) and the host Charleston Trojans (Charleston, IL), saw Newton's baseball team beat Charleston by a margin of 6-2.

The Eagles (4-4) will now prepare for their battle against Pana (Pana, IL). The Panthers enter the non-league battle with a 2-3 record. In their last battle, Pana held off Sullivan (Sullivan, IL), 6-2, in a non-league battle.

Next, the Trojans face the Okaw Valley Timberwolves (Bethany, IL) in a non-league battle, on Thursday, April 3. Charleston will attempt to improve on its 1-3 season record.
