The Mountain Ridge Miners (Frostburg, MD) baseball trounced the host Preston Knights (Kingwood, WV), 11-4 in Friday's non-league challenge.
The Miners now own a 2-2 record. They take the field next when they host Northern Garrett for a Western Maryland challenge on Monday, March 31. Mountain Ridge will clash with a Huskies team coming off a 20-0 league win over Hancock (Hancock, MD). The Huskies record now stands at 3-0.
With the defeat, Preston drops to 2-2 on the year. The Knights host Grafton (Grafton, WV) to clash with the Bearcats in a Big Ten challenge on Wednesday, April 2. The Bearcats go into the challenge with a record of 7-3. Grafton lost 9-3 in their recent league challenge against Philip Barbour (Philippi, WV)
