Chariho Chargers (Wood River Junction, RI) backers exited the stadium satisfied Friday as they saw their lacrosse team nip the visiting North Smithfield Northmen (North Smithfield, RI), 7-6 in a non-league game.
With the victory, Chariho improves its record to 1-0 on the season. The Chargers host East Greenwich (East Greenwich, RI) to play the Avengers in a Division 2 game on Tuesday, April 1. The Avengers come into the game with a record of 0-0.
The Northmen now have a 0-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host North Providence for a non-league game on Monday, March 31. North Smithfield will play a Cougars team coming off a 9-0 league win over Cranston East (Cranston, RI). The Cougars record now stands at 1-0.
