In Friday's non-league match, the visiting Carlsbad Cavemen/Cavegirls softball team scored a tight 8-5 win over the Aztec Tigers.
The Cavemen/Cavegirls (6-5) will now prepare for their match against Alamogordo (Alamogordo, NM). The Tigers come into the non-league match with a 6-1 record. In their last match, Alamogordo nipped Hobbs (Hobbs, NM), 8-4, in a non-league match.
In their next game, the Tigers confront the Bloomfield Bobcats (Bloomfield, NM) in a 4A District 1 match, on Tuesday, April 1. Aztec will attempt to better on its 5-10 season record. The Bobcats come into the match with a 3-8 record after their 7-6 non-league loss to Atrisco Heritage Academy (Albuquerque, NM).
