The East Ascension Spartans (Gonzales, LA) softball nipped the visiting Denham Springs Yellowjackets (Denham Springs, LA), 6-5 in Tuesday's non-league bout.

The Spartans (6-7) will now prepare for their bout against Albany (Albany, LA). The Hornets go into the non-league bout with a 5-3 record. In their last bout, Albany held off Bogalusa (Bogalusa, LA), 17-0, in a league bout.

The Yellowjackets now possess a 1-7 record. They play next when they host Zachary for a 5A District 4 bout on Thursday, March 31.
