Illinois High School Softball - Richland County bounces Fairfield

Richland County Tigers (Olney, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Fairfield Mules (Fairfield, IL), 8-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Tigers now own a 1-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Altamont for a non-league challenge on Thursday, March 31. Richland County will battle a Indians squad coming off a 9-4 non-league loss to Cumberland (Toledo, IL). The Indians record now stands at 0-7.

With the loss, Fairfield falls to 4-2 on the campaign. The Mules host DuQuoin (DuQuoin, IL) to encounter the Indians in a non-league test on Friday, April 1. The Indians come into the test with a record of 5-3.
