The crowd at Wednesday's non-league match between the Archbishop Mitty Monarchs (San Jose, CA) and the host Notre Dame Spirits (Salinas, CA), saw Archbishop Mitty's softball squad nip Notre Dame by a count of 3-2.

The Monarchs now sport a 6-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Presentation for a West Catholic match on Friday, March 31. Archbishop Mitty will face a Panthers squad coming off a 9-2 non-league loss to Los Gatos (Los Gatos, CA). The Panthers record now stands at 1-6.

With the loss, Notre Dame falls to 5-3 on the campaign. The Spirits host North Monterey County (Castroville, CA) to face the Condors in a PCAL - Gabilan match on Monday, April 3. The Condors enter the match with a record of 3-1. North Monterey County lost 10-7 in their recent league match against Monterey (Monterey, CA)
