The McGuffey Highlanders softball team scored 12 runs and limited the host Chartiers-Houston Buccaneers to 9 in the Highlanders non-league triumph on Wednesday.

With the triumph, McGuffey moves its record to 2-1 on the year. The Highlanders travel to Seton LaSalle (Pittsburgh, PA) to clash with the Rebels in a non-league game on Monday, April 3. The Rebels come into the game with a record of 0-2.

In their next game, the Buccaneers clash with the Carmichaels Mighty Mikes (Carmichaels, PA) in a WPIAL 1A 2 game, on Thursday, March 30. Chartiers-Houston will attempt to move on its 0-3 season record. The Mighty Mikes come into the game with a 4-0 record after their 12-0 league win over Jefferson-Morgan (Jefferson, PA).
