Lakes Eagles (Lake Villa, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Dr. Phillips Panthers (Orlando, FL), 9-5 in a non-league challenge.

The Eagles now own a 2-3 record. They take the field next when they host Antioch for a Northern Lake County challenge on Tuesday, April 4. Lakes will battle a Sequoits squad coming off a 10-0 non-league win over Barrington (Barrington, IL). The Sequoits record now stands at 3-0.

With the loss, Dr. Phillips falls to 4-6 on the campaign. The Panthers host Gateway (Kissimmee, FL) to battle the Panthers in a non-league challenge on Thursday, March 30. The Panthers enter the challenge with a record of 1-6. Gateway won 9-8 in their recent non-league challenge against Haines City (Haines City, FL)
