Spectators at Wednesday's non-league match between the Monacan Chiefs (Richmond, VA) and the host Mechanicsville Mustangs (Mechanicsville, VA), witnessed Monacan's softball squad tip Mechanicsville by a count of 7-6.

The Chiefs now sport a 2-4 record. They play next when they host Clover Hill for a Dominion match on Thursday, March 30. Monacan will face a Cavaliers squad coming off a 14-1 league loss to Midlothian (Midlothian, VA). The Cavaliers record now stands at 4-1.

With the loss, Mechanicsville moves to 1-6 on the season. The Mustangs travel to Henrico (Richmond, VA) to face the Warriors in a Capital match on Monday, April 10. The Warriors go into the match with a record of 0-4. Henrico lost 22-4 in their recent non-league match against Freeman (Richmond, VA)
