The crowd at Wednesday's non-league match between the Southside Panthers (Gadsden, AL) and the visiting Sylvania Rams (Sylvania, AL), saw Southside's softball squad nip Sylvania by a count of 7-5.

The Panthers now sport a 8-9 record. They take the field next when they host Sardis for a 5A Area 13 match on Tuesday, April 4.

With the loss, Sylvania falls to 16-12 on the campaign. The Rams travel to Asbury (Albertville, AL) to face the Rams in a 3A Area 14 match on Monday, April 3. The Rams enter the match with a record of 0-4. Asbury lost 16-0 in their recent non-league match against Plainview (Rainsville, AL)
