The New Hope Trojans (Columbus, MS) baseball nipped the visiting Kosciusko Whippets (Kosciusko, MS), 3-2 in Friday's non-league contest.

Coming up next, the Trojans play the Lafayette Commodores (Oxford, MS) in a 5A Region 1 contest, on Tuesday, April 2. New Hope will attempt to better on its 14-4 season record. The Commodores enter the contest with a 17-5 record after their 5-1 league win over Pontotoc (Pontotoc, MS).

The Whippets now sport a 13-8 record. They take the field next when they travel to Greenwood for a 4A Region 3 contest on Tuesday, April 2. Kosciusko will play a Bulldogs squad coming off a 15-0 league loss to Caledonia (Caledonia, MS). The Bulldogs record now stands at 0-6.
