The Avery County Vikings softball team (Newland, NC), was routed 18-3 in Friday's non-league test with the visiting Cloudland Highlanders (Roan Mountain, TN)

Coming up next, the Highlanders encounter the North Greene Huskies (Greeneville, TN) in a 1A District 1 test, on Monday, April 1. Cloudland will attempt to improve on its 4-1 season record. The Huskies enter the test with a 2-1 record after their 10-2 non-league loss to South Greene (Greeneville, TN).

The Vikings (1-5) will now prepare for their test against Mountain Heritage (Burnsville, NC). The Cougars enter the Western Highlands 1A/2A test with a 1-3 record. In their last test, Mountain Heritage was routed by Owen (Black Mountain, NC), 7-3, in a league test.
