Mendon Unity Mustangs (Mendon, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Brown County Hornets (Mt. Sterling, IL), 14-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Mustangs now own a 1-1 record. They take the field next when they host Barry Western for a West Central challenge on Monday, April 8.

With the loss, Brown County falls to 0-5 on the campaign. The Hornets host Routt Catholic (Jacksonville, IL) to battle the Rockets in a Western Illinois Valley - South challenge on Monday, April 1. The Rockets enter the challenge with a record of 0-3. Routt Catholic lost 17-6 in their recent league challenge against North Greene (White Hall, IL)
