Sunnyslope Vikings (Phoenix, AZ) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Payson Longhorns (Payson, AZ), 18-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Vikings now own a 5-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Mohave for a non-league challenge on Friday, March 29. Sunnyslope will battle a Thunderbirds squad coming off a 12-2 league loss to Prescott (Prescott, AZ). The Thunderbirds record now stands at 3-10.

With the loss, Payson falls to 4-7 on the campaign. The Longhorns host Holbrook (Holbrook, AZ) to battle the Roadrunners in a 3A East challenge on Wednesday, April 3. The Roadrunners enter the challenge with a record of 5-14. Holbrook won 26-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Chinle (Chinle, AZ)
