The East Surry Cardinals baseball team scored 12 runs and held the visiting Salisbury Hornets to 7 in the Cardinals non-league win on Saturday.

The Cardinals now own a 7-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to North Wilkes for a Foothills 2A test on Tuesday, April 1. East Surry will play a Vikings team coming off a 15-2 league loss to Wilkes Central (Wilkesboro, NC). The Vikings record now stands at 5-7.

With the defeat, Salisbury drops to 2-10 on the year. The Hornets host East Davidson (Thomasville, NC) to play the Golden Eagles in a Central Carolina 1A/2A test on Tuesday, April 1. The Golden Eagles go into the test with a record of 6-6. East Davidson won 10-0 in their recent league test against North Rowan (Spencer, NC)
