In Saturday's non-league game, the host Powell Panthers baseball team scored a close 9-2 win over the Highlands Bluebirds.
The Panthers (8-5) will now prepare for their game against Karns (Knoxville, TN). The Beavers go into the 4A District 3 game with a 9-8 record. In their last game, Karns nudged Northview Academy (Kodak, TN), 7-0, in a non-league game.
Next, the Bluebirds play the St. Henry Crusaders (Erlanger, KY) in a non-league game, on Monday, March 31. Highlands will attempt to improve on its 3-4 season record. The Crusaders go into the game with a 0-7 record after their 19-8 non-league loss to Tates Creek (Lexington, KY).
