California High School Baseball - Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory edges Saint Mary's

The Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory Fightin' Irish (San Francisco, CA) baseball the host Saint Mary's Panthers (Albany, CA), 8-5 in Saturday's non-league challenge.

The Fightin' Irish now own a 7-3 record. They take the field next when they host Archbishop Riordan for a challenge on Thursday, April 3. Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory will clash with a Crusaders team coming off a 13-12 non-league win over Sequoia (Redwood City, CA). The Crusaders record now stands at 7-6.

With the defeat, Saint Mary's drops to 1-6 on the year. The Panthers host Pinole Valley (Pinole, CA) to clash with the Spartans in a challenge on Wednesday, April 2. The Spartans go into the challenge with a record of 0-1. Pinole Valley lost 8-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Bishop O'Dowd (Oakland, CA)
