In Saturday's non-league match, the host Calico Rock Pirates softball team scored a tight 4-1 victory over the Marshall Bobcats.

The Pirates (6-4) will now prepare for their match against Viola (Viola, AR). The Longhorns go into the 1A Region 2 match with a 6-0 record. In their last match, Viola tipped Shirley (Shirley, AR), 19-11, in a league match.

In their next game, the Bobcats battle the Sloan-Hendrix Greyhounds (Imboden, AR) in a 2A Region 2 match, on Monday, March 31. Marshall will attempt to better on its 2-5 season record. The Greyhounds go into the match with a 6-4 record after their 17-1 league loss to Tuckerman (Tuckerman, AR).
