Pittston Patriots (Pittston, PA) supporters left the game pleased Saturday as they saw their softball squad nudge the visiting Riverside Vikings (Taylor, PA), 9-7 in a non-league game.

With the triumph, Pittston improves its record to 1-1 on the year. The Patriots travel to Wyoming Valley West (Plymouth, PA) to play the Spartans in a Wyoming Valley 1 game on Wednesday, April 2. The Spartans enter the game with a record of 0-1.

The Vikings now hold a 2-2 record. They play next when they travel to Western Wayne for a Lackawanna 3 game on Wednesday, April 2.
