In Thursday's non-league contest, the Athens Golden Eagles (Athens, AL) softball team overwhelmed the visiting Decatur Red Raiders (Decatur, AL), by a margin of 11-0.
With the triumph, Athens moves its record to 6-1 on the year. The Golden Eagles travel to Mortimer Jordan (Kimberly, AL) to play the Blue Devils in a non-league contest on Friday, March 4. The Blue Devils come into the contest with a record of 0-4.
In their next game, the Red Raiders play the Cullman Bearcats (Cullman, AL) in a 6A Area 14 contest, on Tuesday, March 8. Decatur will attempt to move on its 5-2 season record.
