Hickory Red Tornadoes (Hickory, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Bunker Hill Bears (Claremont, NC), 19-3 in a non-league challenge.

The Red Tornadoes now own a 1-1 record. They take the field next when they host East Lincoln for a Western Foothills 3A challenge on Friday, March 4. Hickory will face a Mustangs squad coming off a 6-3 non-league win over Mountain Island Charter (Mt. Holly, NC). The Mustangs record now stands at 1-0.

With the loss, Bunker Hill falls to 0-1 on the campaign. The Bears host Freedom (Morganton, NC) to face the Patriots in a non-league challenge on Friday, March 4. The Patriots enter the challenge with a record of 1-1. Freedom lost 7-3 in their recent non-league challenge against Patton (Morganton, NC)
