The Vela Sabercats got by the visiting Flour Bluff Hornets baseball team by a count of 3-2 in Friday's non-league bout.

The Sabercats now possess a 7-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Robstown for a non-league bout on Saturday, March 4. Vela will face a Cottonpickers team coming off a 7-5 non-league win over Pharr-San Juan-Alamo (San Juan, TX). The Cottonpickers record now stands at 3-4.

Next, the Hornets face the Calallen Wildcats (Corpus Christi, TX) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, March 4. Flour Bluff will attempt to move on its 4-5 season record. The Wildcats enter the bout with a 8-0 record after their 3-1 non-league win over United (Laredo, TX).
