Silver Fighting Colts (Silver City, NM) fans exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the host Americas Trail Blazers (El Paso, TX), 14-4 in a non-league challenge.

The Fighting Colts now sport a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Lovington for a non-league challenge on Saturday, March 4. Silver will face a Wildcats squad coming off a 4-3 non-league win over Sandia (Albuquerque, NM). The Wildcats record now stands at 1-1.

With the loss, Americas falls to 6-9 on the campaign. The Trail blazers travel to Eastlake (El Paso, TX) to face the Falcons in a 6A Region I District 1 challenge on Tuesday, March 7. The Falcons enter the challenge with a record of 10-8. Eastlake won 11-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Parkland (El Paso, TX)
