Hemphill Hornets (Hemphill, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the visiting Brookeland Wildcats (Brookeland, TX), 10-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Hornets now own a 10-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to West Sabine for a non-league challenge on Saturday, March 4. Hemphill will face a Tigers squad coming off a 7-1 non-league win over Cayuga (Cayuga, TX). The Tigers record now stands at 5-7.

With the loss, Brookeland falls to 4-3 on the campaign. The Wildcats host Broaddus (Broaddus, TX) to face the Bulldogs in a 2A Region III District 23 challenge on Tuesday, March 7. The Bulldogs enter the challenge with a record of 0-3. Broaddus lost 20-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Cayuga (Cayuga, TX)
