Caney Creek Panthers (Conroe, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Tarkington Longhorns (Cleveland, TX), 7-4 in a non-league challenge.

The Panthers now own a 7-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to The Woodlands for a 6A Region II District 13 challenge on Wednesday, March 15.

With the loss, Tarkington falls to 4-11 on the campaign. The Longhorns travel to MacArthur (Houston, TX) to battle the Generals in a non-league challenge on Saturday, March 4. The Generals enter the challenge with a record of 6-9. MacArthur won 18-2 in their recent league challenge against Eisenhower (Houston, TX)
