East Ascension Spartans (Gonzales, LA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Cedar Creek Cougars (Ruston, LA), 12-6 in a non-league challenge.
The Spartans now own a 6-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to John Curtis Christian for a non-league challenge on Saturday, March 4. East Ascension will battle a Patriots squad coming off a 7-2 non-league win over Port Barre (Port Barre, LA). The Patriots record now stands at 2-0.
With the loss, Cedar Creek falls to 2-1 on the campaign. The Cougars host River Oaks (Monroe, LA) to battle the Mustangs in a challenge on Thursday, March 16. The Mustangs enter the challenge with a record of 2-1.
