Franklin Cougars (El Paso, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Dumas Demons (Dumas, TX), 2-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Cougars now own a 4-9 record. They take the field next when they travel to Centennial for a non-league challenge on Friday, March 3.

With the loss, Dumas falls to 0-1 on the campaign. The Demons travel to Higley (Gilbert, AZ) to battle the Knights in a non-league challenge on Saturday, March 4. The Knights enter the challenge with a record of 9-3. Higley lost 11-3 in their recent non-league challenge against Levelland (Levelland, TX)
