The Purvis Tornadoes (Purvis, MS) softball the visiting Picayune Maroon Tide (Picayune, MS), 9-7 in Tuesday's non-league outing.
The Tornadoes now sport a 7-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host Northeast Jones for a 5A Region 4 outing on Thursday, March 5. Purvis will encounter a Tigers team coming off a 10-0 league win over Wayne County (Waynesboro, MS). The Tigers record now stands at 10-2.
With the loss, Picayune drops to 2-6 on the campaign. The Maroon tide travel to Poplarville (Poplarville, MS) to clash with the Hornets in a non-league test on Friday, March 6. The Hornets go into the test with a record of 5-5. Poplarville won 14-0 in their recent non-league test against Lawrence County (Monticello, MS)
