Carondelet Cougars (Concord, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Pinole Valley Spartans (Pinole, CA), 18-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Cougars now own a 5-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Heritage for a non-league challenge on Friday, April 1. Carondelet will battle a Patriots squad coming off a 7-5 non-league win over Arroyo (San Lorenzo, CA). The Patriots record now stands at 1-0.

With the loss, Pinole Valley falls to 3-8 on the campaign. The Spartans host Alhambra (Martinez, CA) to battle the Bulldogs in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, April 5. The Bulldogs enter the challenge with a record of 7-4. Alhambra won 14-1 in their recent league challenge against Northgate (Walnut Creek, CA)
