Brookside Cardinals (Sheffield, OH) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Vermilion Sailors (Vermilion, OH), 17-1 in a non-league challenge.
The Cardinals now own a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Steele for a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 2. Brookside will battle a Comets squad coming off a 13-0 league loss to North Ridgeville (North Ridgeville, OH). The Comets record now stands at 0-2.
With the loss, Vermilion falls to 0-1 on the campaign. The Sailors host Bellevue (Bellevue, OH) to battle the Redmen in a non-league challenge on Monday, April 4. The Redmen enter the challenge with a record of 0-0.
