In Wednesday's non-league contest, the South Caldwell Spartans (Hudson, NC) softball team overwhelmed the visiting Hickory Red Tornadoes (Hickory, NC), by a margin of 11-0.

With the triumph, South Caldwell moves its record to 6-1 on the year. The Spartans host Hibriten (Lenoir, NC) to play the Panthers in a Northwestern 3A/4A contest on Monday, April 4. The Panthers come into the contest with a record of 7-3. Hibriten lost 2-0 in their recent league contest against Alexander Central (Taylorsville, NC)

In their next game, the Red Tornadoes play the Statesville Greyhounds (Statesville, NC) in a Western Foothills 3A contest, on Friday, April 1. Hickory will attempt to move on its 2-9 season record. The Greyhounds come into the contest with a 0-7 record after their 18-0 league loss to St. Stephens (Hickory, NC).
