The crowd at Wednesday's league match between the Weir Red Riders (Weirton, WV) and the visiting John Marshall Monarchs (Glen Dale, WV), saw Weir's softball squad nip John Marshall by a count of 7-5.

The Red Riders now sport a 7-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to University for a non-league match on Thursday, March 31. Weir will face a Hawks squad coming off a 6-1 non-league win over Robert C. Byrd (Clarksburg, WV). The Hawks record now stands at 5-3.
