The New Bern Bears softball team scored 15 runs and limited the visiting Northwestern Wildcats to 0 in the Bears non-league triumph on Wednesday.

With the triumph, New Bern moves its record to 7-4 on the year. The Bears travel to D.H. Conley (Greenville, NC) to clash with the Vikings in a Big East 3A/4A game on Friday, April 1. The Vikings come into the game with a record of 6-1. D.H. Conley won 1-0 in their recent non-league game against Apex Friendship (Apex, NC)

In their next game, the Wildcats clash with the West Carteret Patriots (Morehead City, NC) in a non-league game, on Saturday, April 2. Northwestern will attempt to move on its 0-1 season record. The Patriots come into the game with a 5-4 record after their 15-4 league loss to Richlands (Richlands, NC).
