Northern Patriots (Owings, MD) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting North Point Eagles (Waldorf, MD), 9-4 in a league challenge.

The Patriots now own a 2-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Patuxent for a Southern Maryland challenge on Friday, April 1. Northern will face a Panthers squad coming off a 8-5 league win over Lackey (Indian Head, MD). The Panthers record now stands at 3-2.

With the loss, North Point falls to 1-3 on the campaign. The Eagles host Lackey (Indian Head, MD) to face the Chargers in a Southern Maryland challenge on Friday, April 1. The Chargers enter the challenge with a record of 1-2. Lackey lost 8-5 in their recent league challenge against Patuxent (Lusby, MD)
